Cardell Accountants take the health and wellbeing of our people, clients and the broader community seriously.

With the declaration of the COVID-19 pandemic, we have implemented procedures that meet the Australian Government COVID-19 guidelines and our firm has taken steps to minimise the risk of infection.

Effective from Monday 16 March 2020, all face to face appointments were cancelled for the foreseeable future, including visits to client premises. 

Alternative arrangements have been made, including:

• Sending information via email or dropbox
• Conducting the interview via a phone call
• Rescheduling of appointments for at least 3 weeks in the future  
• Another suitable arrangement that does not involve a face to face meeting

A sign has been placed on the front door advising visitors to contact reception via phone to make alternative arrangements. 

If files are to be dropped off, this is to be done as swiftly as possible with no close personal contact (by prior arrangement only).

Cardell Accountants will continue to support our clients during this uncertain time, using wherever possible, electronic means of communication.

We are meeting regularly to discuss any updates or changes as they occur, and we will adapt our approach accordingly as necessary.

Background of the Firm

Cardell Accountants was established by Bob Cardell when he moved to Wonthaggi and acquired the existing practice of Frank Hurst who had practiced there for the previous 20 years. It has grown from 2 to 15 employees.

Employee backgrounds cover a wide range of experience including working successfully in multi-national public corporations and private companies. Staff members have first hand knowledge of the computing, printing, retail, chemical manufacturing, property, agriculture and medical diagnostics industries. Within these organisations they have gained broad experience in general and sales management, management accounting, strategic planning, restructuring and training.

Staff are accredited with Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand. We are also Registered Tax Agents as well as hold Chartered Accountants public practicing certificates. Audit and Assurance services are provided by a separate entity practising as Cardell Assurance & Audit.

The firm operates to the quality standard "APES 320 - Quality Control for Firms" issued by the Australian Accounting Professional and Ethical Board.
